We had a visit from the county Social Services office. Someone made a complaint about us.
the issues:
clutter in our house
Locks on doors and cupboards
animal odor
blog.
I can’t be told who made the complaint. Confidentiality applies. I understand.
I actually welcome this type of investigation or visit from Social Services. Why? It is simple, we have nothing to hide.
The visit went well. The social workers will go back and file their report.
We are fairly open with the social workers who work with our family. There are many. I offered to give a list of them to the people who visited today. We are doing the things that we are doing for the safety, health and well-being of our whole family, not just one child.
And my blog is still going to be here. The blog is where I can decompress and talk about the issues that we deal with everyday. It is where I can talk about the hoarding of cat food containers, or eating of cat food. It is where I can air my frustrations and accept advice.
We have our suspicions about who filed the complaint. Since I have no proof, it is pointless to discuss it further here.
But, I will say this. I applaud the follow through on this report. If social services doesn’t take each report seriously, then lives can be in danger. All one has to do to understand this is watch the news. I find it sad that the person who made this allegation didn’t look beyond the fact that my blog is offensive to them.
To the people who read my blog, if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. No questions are ever stupid. You may not like my answer, but we live in the United States. You have the right to your opinion, I have the right to mine.
